Job description
The selected candidates would be part of the Decision Support Analysis Services team and work with the Strategy and Planning teams of gloabl businesses in the areas of Market Intelligence, Competitor Intelligence, Customer Intelligence and other strategic marketing research initiatives. The selected candidates would need to work with client business planning leads as well as external market research vendors. S/he will need to provide timely, accurate and insightful information on client's markets for use in business planning, strategic planning, and market and competitor analysis.

The following would be some of the job responsibilities -
• Provide customized research support in the areas of Market/Competitor/Customer/Product Intelligence based on business requirements
• Analyze information from various secondary sources and provide insights on how the market changes impact business units, vertical divisions, products, solutions and regions
• Responsible for identifying, tracking & compiling market/customer/competitors information
• Provide on-going competitive information filtering & tracking (strategies, moves, positioning, new offering, financial data, etc.), as well as market share analysis
• Provide on-going market insights & trends filtering & tracking, as well as market size/forecasts/trends analysis
• Track, select & validate from research houses publications/databases relevant reports/sources based on business interest
• Compile, organize, synthesize reports
Skills requirement

Must Have -
• MBA in concentration in Marketing from premier management school or Masters degree in Economics
• 3 to 5 years work experience in business research, marketing, analytics or consulting. Besides, experience in any vertical Industry is also preferred
• Prior experience in equity research, analytics, startegic marketing or marketing research
• Project management skills and experience
• Excellent communication skills – ability to build and manage external and internal relationships
• Expert knowledge of MS Excel, Powerpoint and Access
• Strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of working on secondary data sources
• Ability to do competitive and market analysis, with tangible recommendations. Has the ability to sort through a lot of data and clearly call out salient points.
• Solid understanding of research methodologies and analyst sources
Desired -
• Good knowledge of the IT Software management products and market trends
• Fair understanding of financial reports of firms
• Intercultural & international awareness / experience


VI. Account Intelligence
Job Description:
• Responsible for collecting, collating and analyzing customer and industry competition info in conjunction with Supported BU and region.
• Collect customer background information (strategy/mgt etc), product/ service related information, financial information, customer industry outlook & trends etc.
• Collate, synthesize & summarize information from diverse source to the required flow. (strategies, M&A, expansion, financial data, etc.)
• IT spend and share analysis within and account/customer.
• Analyze client industry trends, IT initiatives & track it periodically
• Assist in ad-hoc requests for Marketing/Sales team (implying collecting information on accounts/customer with short term around time)
• Use the information sources like research house publications/databases effectively to source information.
• Compile, organize, synthesize, report & maintain info (market size, share, trends, etc.) in a central repository
Deliverables:
• Responsible to support selected Business Unit segments and region in customer profiling
• Closely team up with Customer Intelligence team to post/link/update research & info.
Skills Requirement:
• Superior English written and verbal communication
• Good knowledge of corporate functioning, organization and industry trends.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel functionalities (Pivot Tables, Macros, VB)
• Knowledge of tools like Factiva/Hoovers/Thomson financials etc
• Research orientation/ ability to collate, synthesize & summarize information from diverse sources to the required flow/format.
• Ability to work flexible hours - method, organization & flexibility
• Intercultural & international awareness / experience
• enthusiastic, motivated, positive, "CAN DO" attitude, Results focused
• Works well as a member of cross functional teams
Experience & Background
• 2-4 yrs experience in Research, Consulting or Marketing function in IT industry. Besides, experience in any of the vertical Industry is also preferred
• Degree in business and/or marketing and/or market research with fair understanding of financial reports of firms

Responsible for supporting businesses primarily in the competitive Intelligence area with some key responsibilities as:
• Market and Competition analysis
• Analysis of Competitors’ products and solutions.
• On-going competitive information filtering & tracking (strategies, moves, positioning, new offering, financial data, etc.).
• Track, select & validate from research houses publications/databases relevant reports/sources based on business interest
• Provide support for further analysis & decision-making
• Provide inputs to the Strategy and Business Planning Team

• Ability to research, analyze, synthesize & evaluate complex issues of diverse scope and

• Must have the ability (patience, persistence) to do detailed analysis, often working with
contacts in product marketing and engineering, as well as stakeholders in the regions
• Ability to work flexible hours - method, organization & flexibility

• Works well as a member of cross functional teams
• Familiarity with using secondary research databases and analysis of data
• Strong Presentation skills and MS Office skills

Experience & Background

• 2-4 yrs experience in Pre-sales, Consulting or Product Marketing in the IT industry with
demonstrated ability to understand needs of sales. Should be comfortable with technology
concepts like Servers, Operating Systems, Storage, Networking, IT Applications/Solutions
• Degree in Engineering and a MBA (Marketing/Systems)
