do big firms get favorable treatment? i think so. for all kinds of reasons. conspiracy is not one of them.
i know a lot of people at Lehman and GS. Over all GS is better than Lehman and US staff are bettr than Asia staff. No offense to anyone, just my observation.
i do not know Paulson personally nor the decision process od US treasury. neither do u (i assume) With no evidence, calling a plot is quite out of space.
Conspiracy theory tend to stop with knowledgable people. But it pops up whenever there is sth dramatic. China lose money trading copper, GS' fault. China lose money in oil, GS fault According NYT column, the market was busted by GS short and its economist bearish call in 06.
Maybe we find the solution to all financial problems. just do what GS does.
