-Role as Senior Manager for Health Safety & Environmental Protection (HSE), Shanghai Site
– Plan and direct the development and implementation of HSE strategy in line with Company business objectives.
– Ensure the provision and monitoring of comprehensive integrated systems and procedures for the effective management of HSE on site.
– Ensure that Company meets the HSE requirements placed upon it by legislation and internal regulations or guidelines
– Ensure that the Company has appropriate, influential and effective representation with relevant external authorities and bodies dealing with HSE legislation and policy issues.
– Provide leadership and direction to the HSE principles which encourages line management and all associates to achieve high performance, work safely and efficiently and support HSE initiatives.
– Ensure the provision and continuous improvement of cost effective and efficient services to the business in the areas of:
1.Occupational Health & Hygiene
2. Safety and Loss Prevention
3. Environmental Protection
Requirement:
• Degree, preferably an Advanced degree, in Life Sciences
• > 10 years of working experience in HSE management, preferably with China experience; proven success as HSE manager in a R&D environment, particularly in a multinational company that conducts life sciences research
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of spoken Chinese is a plus
• Proven skills in project management
• Proven people skills with the ability to motivate, and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and implement team projects
