Function description
Reporting to the Regional Manager of Education & Enablement, the Education Sales Consultant is responsible for advising customers on their education requirements, developing sales opportunities and closing business for VMware training courses across Greater China.
The key responsibilities for the position include:
• Work with marketing team to develop education and certification campaigns
• Assist with the creation of education and learning plans for enterprise customers
• Represent VMware at trade shows and events as required
• Organize and lead sales “Blitz” days to promote new education offerings
• Exceed defined targets for outbound call volumes
• Exceed agreed sales performance targets
• Maintain a strong and accurate pipeline of opportunities
• Work with our education operations group to ensure sufficient courses are scheduled to satisfy demand
• Build relationships with internal sales and technical teams
Competencies
• Minimum 6 years sales or marketing experiences preferably in the technology industry
• Excellent understanding of technology and relating the value to a customer’s business requirements. Although not a technician, the candidate will be able to understand the technical issues surrounding VMware products and technologies
• Be able to execute persuasive sales techniques
• An understanding of the channel market, Systems Integrators, Distributors & OEMs across the territories to help sales identify and nurture key influencers within each opportunity
• First class presentation, planning and leadership skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Be able to operate successfully in a rapidly changing, ambiguous and less defined environment
• Outstanding time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrate effectiveness through weekly reports to track performance and results
• Be familiar with CRM systems and be able to input lead data regularly to enable results tracking
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take the initiative to get things done
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once (flexible and self-sufficient)
