I know that quite a few people in this group are working on some
Internet related business ideas. We will have a Peer Help Peer (PHP)
group discussion on the subject on 6/24, Sat.
The reasons I am interested in such a group discussion are partially
based on my personal experience. My friends and I had tried a
business idea around "social network-community" in the past. It is
one of these sites to facilitate user-created content. And the
business did not fly. I want to share my experience with the group,
so that you can learn from my expeirence. I knew that a few other
people have similiar experience and would like to share, so we can
learn from each other. (In retrospect, I would like to get these
experience ahead of time.)
On the other hand, I felt that it is really weak to do a
business "solo". Particularly in this web 2.0 world, because of too
many competitors, the speed of execution is important. I would like
to unite (or at least, to form alliance) with friends, so that we
will be stronger. By default, as Chinese, we have much less resource
in this country comparing to natives, and we are insensitive to many
applications. In other words, we are at much weaker positions,
which, unfortunately, means that the odds work against us. If we
unite, at least, we will be better off and the chance of success
will increase.
Additionally, no matter what business ideas you are working on, many
Internet related business ideas share lots of commonality. For
example, very likely, we will use similar approach to market and
promote the web sites and services. And we can learn from each
other's experience and promote each other's site.
Last, if you have confidential ideas you do not want to talk, that
is fine. (Honestly, in my opinion, people in this group will be
likely to be your friends and partners, not your competitors. There
are too many competitors out there which you shall worry, but not
this group of people.)

is only open to serious Participants, for those people who had
worked on an Internet business, or is working on it, or will do it
soon, or is actively looking for partners.
