For the third consecutive year, Accenture has been ranked #1 in its industry category in Fortune magazine's list of America's Most Admired Companies. Accenture beat out key competitors to top the list of Information Technology Services companies. This ranking comes from surveying people in the industry which makes it even more rewarding. Ten thousand executives, directors and securities analysts were then asked to rate the companies in their own industries using a scale of one to 10 across eight criteria: innovation, financial soundness, employee talent, quality of management, use of corporate assets, long-term investments, social responsibility, and quality of products/services. Accenture ranked first in its industry group in all eight key attribute categories and first overall, with a total score of 7.63, improving on last year’s total of 7.20. We plan to stay on top and hope that you fit in with the #1 Admired Company three years running!
I’m happy to share with you that once again Working Mother magazine has included Accenture in its annual list of the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers. This is the third year that Accenture has received this prestigious recognition in the United States.Accenture, along with large and small, private and public companies in a variety of industries, completed a comprehensive and rigorous application to be considered for the list. In recognizing Accenture, Working Mother paid particular attention to these accomplishments:
• Our new Hours That Help program, designed to give Accenture people the option of voluntarily donating unused paid time off hours to a coworker who may need extra time to deal with a medical crisis or family emergency.
• Our efforts to enable our employees to expand and customize flexible work arrangements.
• Our Parental Leave policy that provides one week of paid leave to new fathers and domestic partners.
• Our national back-up dependent care program, and the new pilot program in three US locations (more locations to be added in FY06), which offers our people back-up care services when they have to work and their usual dependent care provider is unavailable.
This high profile recognition says a lot for the progress we’ve made with our work/life efforts. Through national programs and policies, along with local networking groups and activities, our people have a variety of resources to help them balance their personal and professional priorities. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to make our work/life initiatives successful!
This recognition also encourages us to plan for the future. We will continue to listen to your feedback, build on what’s working and look for new ways to support you in managing your work/life challenges.
